Mueller Park Trail is a locals’ favorite and can be busy on weekends and holidays. Most of the elevation gain is made in the first 1.0 mile of the trail as it climbs up the mountain face. Head south on 67 and turn west on Wapiti (Elk) Road, into the park. Patches of shade and sun fluctuate along the trail. Most of the trail is smooth, hard packed dirt and rises at a moderate grade, but there are a few steep, rocky sections thrown in for good measure.
